Happy Tuesday!!
I woke up super early this morning, attempting to get myself on an earlier morning schedule. I’m usually up by 7:30 but I know I’d have a lot more time during the day if I woke up at say, 5:30 instead. So that’s exactly what I did this morning! I had two slices of millet bread french toast and then was off for a workout.

I met up with Megan at my gym (also the same gym Caitlin goes to and hopefully Megan will be joining!). Megan is having some knee trouble and was looking for an alternative form of exercise. I took her under my swimming wing and we hit the pool at 6 o’clock this morning!
I’m always interested to see how someone interprets freestyle upon their first try. I basically have just asked the girls to copy me or someone else in the pool to get a feel for what I’m working with, and also to see what their natural tendencies are right at the beginning. Everyone’s strokes are so different! Megan had a very precise interpretation of freestyle and was quite honestly, a natural. Sure, we tweaked a few things (there’s always room for improvement), but overall, I think she’ll pick up some distance pretty quickly. Better yet, her knee didn’t bother her!
After Megan left for work, I wanted to get a workout in since I did more teaching than swimming in the pool with her. I wasn’t feeling a swim, so I changed and did 30 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes on the treadmill. Megan asked how I don’t get bored doing this and I told her I read blogs on my phone! I also listen to music. The time flies by!
I was starving when I got home, so went straight for a green smoothie before my shower.

I spent the rest of the morning getting some work done on the computer and took a break for lunch around 11:30. The rest of Evan’s french fries and some gluten-free vegan mac ‘n’ cheeze.

How early do you wake up in the morning? Do you workout before or after your job?
Now I’m off to work! Have a great day!

I get up at 4:10am every week day in order to get my workout in. I find that it is much easier to get up and workout than to try to fit it in after I get home, make dinner and the night gets away from me. This way there is no excuse! Although it does make the weekends a little rough when I can’t sleep past 5:30am.

ive been trying to alternate working out before work or after, depending on my weekly schedule and how busy evenings go. (part time job, articles, etc.)
i LOVE working out before work- mostly because i feel like i get A LOT accomplished in the day if I start early. But I really like the destressing factor of after work as well.
I still try to hold on to some of my night owl tendencies from college every now and again, which makes my early morning work outs less frequent. The class challenge I’m participating in right now has me showing up for classes at a VARIETY of times through out the week, however- so I feel like I’m finally learning how to best utilize my time no matter when I get my work out on.

I’ve been following you for awhile and thought I’d finally say hi. Mainly because I’ve been enjoying the swimming posts through you and Caitlin. I’m hoping to try swimming again in the future and I’ll be coming back for the instructions. Hardest part for me is the breathing so I can swim with my head in the water. Someone told me the way I was swimming I was plowing the water. Not good
Easiest thing I’ll be able to remember and correct is the short, fast leg strokes UNDER the water.
Oh and I workout after work. I’m not getting up at 5am to get a workout in!

Pretty website! I get up at 5 to be at work at 7, so I work out after work! Luckily I get off at 4 (most days so I can hit the road (for a run) before it gets too dark out.

I love working out in the am before work. Unfortunately this morning, my hand hit the snooze button before my mind knew what was happening!
But I love getting it out of the way, and I have so much more energy.

I wake up at 5 if I’m going to do an a.m. workout. If not, I wake up at 7 and work out after work. Usually I wake up early in the morning. I will admit, I hate every minute of waking up early.

I love working out around 10 am. It’s a few hours after breakfast and my body has tons of energy. I wish I had that kind of energy right after waking up! I wake up at 6:30am most of the time. I’m not working full-time anymore so I can work out when I choose. It’s pretty awesome!

I wake up at 6 but usually snooze until 6:20. I work out after work around 5–I’m not awake or fueled up enough to get any productive exercising done before work.

I am up at 4am every morning to run. It sounds crazy, I know, but honestly, I am so use to this schedule that it really doesn’t phase me. The only downside, I can’t stay up past 8 or 9pm. Oh well, to each his own!

I try to wake up at 7, but sometimes it is earlier than that depending on my schedule. I used to be a morning person and got my workouts done first thing, but now my workouts are whenever I can fit them in.

Right now, I’m digging my early morning workouts.Work is leaving me sleepy and tired by the time I get home. I love a workout to get my blood flowing.

I’m an early riser and used to love to practice yoga first thing in the morning, but lately I hit the mat to wind down at night!!
